Shalini Jawa:
Namaste
My name is Shalini and I am from India. I have a masters degree in English and also worked as a school counsellor.I have 16 years of teaching experience .Language in my opinion allows us to communicate with more people around the globe and Hindi is an ancient language with a huge impact on history, culture , traditions and art. Hindi Is spoken as a second language by approximately half a billion people..I am passionate learner and como wants to use these skills to enrich the lives of students worldwide .
I have taken the seven best principles of teaching language and I deliver them in a unique way so students are pulled towards learning with curiosity rather than being pushed into learning.
- First, I Focus on learning conversational hindi mainly which I believe gets maximum value for global citizens
- I try to teach indian culture and history dance, art ,music with language for more wholesome learning
- I make it fun with assignments like watching hindi movies, and reading Indian comics ,puzzles, riddles, games and short stories
- encourage peer engagement by teaching in groups of kids. Each group is limited to 2- 4 families and 4- 8 kids to allow unique immersive experience
- assess students before starting and assign them into one of 7 levels. I reward progress which culminates in golden badge in spoken hindi
- I help encourage Students making lifelong friends across the globe and share experiences which enrich them to know various culture.
- I arrange an annual retreat (optional) for all groups in Delhi (India) to support -immersive experience
